This weekly Intermediate Social Tennis is designed to further develop players’ shot techniques, with an emphasis on directional control, shot placement, spin, tactical drills, and doubles play. It offers an excellent opportunity to maintain fitness, meet new players, and enjoy the game in a friendly, social environment.
Prior tennis experience is required, preferably at the Improver or Intermediate level or above.
SCHEDULE
Sessions take place every Monday at 1:00 p.m. Booking links will be released monthly and may be reserved on a weekly basis.
VENUE
Location: Decathlon Surrey Quays Sports Arena
The tennis court is located outdoors on the rooftop level (Level 3). We kindly recommend that you arrive 5–10 minutes prior to your session to allow time to meet outside the lift area.
Meeting Time: Between 12:55 and 1:00 PM
Please note that the previous session concludes at 12:55 PM, and you may use the lift once the earlier participants have exited.
Lift Access:
The rooftop lift is located near the Kids Ski Wear/Camping section inside the store. You may also ask the Welcome Desk for directions upon arrival.
If arriving after 1:00 PM:
Please contact the coach via WhatsApp call at 07956 054487 once you are in front of the lift. The lift will be sent down to you. Kindly ensure that your device is connected to the store’s Wi-Fi, as mobile reception inside the store may be limited.
WHAT TO BRING
A tennis racket (loan rackets are available if needed) A bottle of water
WHAT TO WEAR
Please wear comfortable athletic clothing and suitable sports shoes. While sports skirts are acceptable, general skirts are not recommended. We advise dressing in layers that can be easily removed as you warm up during the session. On sunny days, a cap and sunscreen are highly recommended.
WHAT IF IT RAINS
In the event of inclement weather, you will be notified of any cancellations via email at least 1 to 1.5 hours before the scheduled start time. Sessions cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled to a later date.If rescheduling is not possible, a refund will be issued.If you do not receive a cancellation email at least one hour prior to your session, please assume that the session is going ahead as planned.Due to limited court availability, the rescheduled date is final. Refunds will not be provided for players unable to attend the makeup session.If the makeup session is subsequently cancelled due to weather, a refund will be arranged.If a session proceeds for more than 30 minutes before being interrupted by weather, it will be considered complete and no makeup session will be offered.
